Mayo Health System

  • Mayo Health System - Upper Mid-West was established February 1992. Since then thirteen organizations have become partners in care who, between them, provide services in sixty-two communities throughout south western Wisconsin, north east and central Iowa, and south central Minnesota.
  • As a Mayo Health System physician you can enjoy an unparalleled professional growth environment: Access to outstanding no-cost CME at Mayo Clinic Rochester; direct contact with Mayo Clinic specialty colleagues for consults and referral; and the opportunity to practice medicine in a physician led healthcare system where integrity matters, and which is patient focussed and quality driven.
  • These partnerships with Mayo strengthen local medical resources and helps preserve the viability of community healthcare services over the long term. The Mayo Foundation, together with its local health system affiliates, invests in the local community and, thereby, has an interest in the long-term success of local healthcare providers. As part of the Mayo Health System, community healthcare providers are able to share resources, minimize duplication of technology and services, and tap into Mayo's medical and administrative expertise when appropriate.
  • At the end of 2002 Mayo Health System:
    • Had 11,191 allied health staff plus 655 physicians, making our organization one of the larger medical groups in the US
    • Owned 14 hospitals, and managed three others, with a total of 912 beds.
    • Owned eight nursing homes and had service agreements for two others.
    • Had more than 2,200,000 patient visits to our clinics and hospitals.
    • Arranged for more than 100 Mayo Clinic physicians in 25 specialties to regularly see patients at Mayo Health System sites.
